Knowledge is power but execution is KING

This is Birdie's 22nd personal article

Actually, I have thought of delaying today’s post again because I have an exam tomorrow and I’m not fully prepared for it till now. Some of you might be thinking, didn’t you wrote about time management before, how come you are still not prepared.

So here, let me be honest with you guys. I did not practice everything that I wrote in this blog. I have tried before, but my execution sucks. Just like what I wrote previously, I’ve totally laid back to my old self. Even though I’m getting back my momentum slowly, but I think I still need some time to get back.

But, the main reason that makes myself to still take out this time to write this post, is all because of one sentence in one song that I accidentally came across today. It’s a Chinese rap song, “Life’s a struggle”, and the translation of the sentence that caught me is “even if I’m kneeling down, I’ll still sprint towards my goals”. And that gave me the topic of today’s blog. It’s all about your execution.

After the digital revolution, when the internet become easily accessible to us, all the different kind of information became available to us just within few taps.

I bet I’m not the only one that is always looking for ways to upgrade myself and keep exploring new ways to manage myself a little better. However, even though I know lots and lots of techniques, tips and ways to improve myself, to become successful and what not, I’m not acting as how I am supposed to be.

It seems like we have the superpowers to master any kind of skills and techniques that we learn immediately and we expect ourselves to implement it into our lives automatically after reading or learning it. Isn’t it a bit ridiculous?

If you can’t relate, let me give you an example. Do you have something that you want to practice so much but you always ended up failing? You know the ways, you why you want to do it and you know why you fail. But you just keep failing and failing. Isn’t it annoying? (Sleeping early and waking up early)

This just shows us how much execution matters to us if we want to make a difference. There’s so much methodology online and offline for us to learn and do anything we want, but most of us will always end up in the group of “pass and forget”. Not say we literally forget, but we just don’t care about it anymore

If you really want to know the deeper reason of why we kept failing in some things that we really want to achieve, is the this very simple yet straight forward reason. We are too easily tempted and distracted. For whatever things that you fail at, the ultimate reason is you got lured into the temptation to do the opposite.

This is one tactic that I have been trying and kept failing at, but I still think this is the best way for us to overcome the temptations we have in order for us to do something.

It’s called the 3,2,1 tactic. Which means whenever you find yourself distracted of you are into something and you know you need to get something done you count down from 3 then 2 then 1. It doesn’t matter how slow you count it, as long as after you count it, you will get your hands off everything you are doing right now and do the one and only thing you are supposed to do .

This is a really cruel tactic that really hard to practice, especially at the start. However, if you really want yourself to be different, challenge yourself to do this. Very slowly, you will see a difference in yourself that you won’t be so hesitant in doing those things that go against your temptations.

Lastly, I just want to say that even if you are the best in the world for whatever thing you think it is. If you have no idea how to prove it and show it to others, you are just nobody in a stranger’s eye. Start by overcoming your own temptations and prove others your worth!

I consulted a freelance writer few days back on what ways can I improve my blog. She said that keep it short. So today, I tried to cut all the crap and explanations to just give some examples of myself and the way we can improve. Share with me how y'all think about it and don't forget to scroll down and subscribe if you like this blog.
